INSTRUCTIONS
ALL TEST TUBE PRODUCTS FROM BALLISTIC TECHNOLOGY SHOULD ONLY BE
USED ON AN APPROVED SHOOTING RANGE
OBEY ALL FIREARM SAFETY RULES AT ALL TIMES WHEN USING
BULLET TEST TUBE PRODUCTS
STEP 1: Place the TURKEY TEST TUBE downrange at the distance you want to test at. We suggest you cut a hole in opposing sides of the TURKEY TEST TUBE past the expansion material, poke a stick into the holes and then shove the stick into the ground. Position the TURKEY TEST TUBE so that the target is facing the direction you will shoot from.
STEP 2: Shoot the TURKEY TEST TUBE.
STEP 3: Retrieve the TURKEY TEST TUBE and count the number of pellets the impacted the front of the TUBE.
Flip it over and count the number of pellets that exited the TUBE.
STEP 4: Divide the number of exit holes by the number of hits to determine the penetration percentage of that gun / load combination at that range.
STEP 5: If you wish to shoot the same TURKEY TEST TUBE again simply mark the hits on the front or replace the old target with a new target. Then, flip the TURKEY TEST TUBE over and use your finger to push the expansion material in over each exit hole.
STEP 6: To shoot a second time, repeat steps 1 through 4.
SUGGESTIONS
Purchase at least one TURKEY TEST TUBE fore each gun / load combination you wish to test.
Start your testing at the longest range first and move closer at five yard increments. If you start testing at 50 yards this should allow at least two to three shots per TURKEY TEST TUBE.
Shotguns are imprecise weapons and two shots, even with the same gun / load combination, are not likely to produce identical results. For this reason your test data will be more reliable if you test each gun / load combination multiple times and establish an average.
TURKEY TEST TUBES can be melted and molded into new TURKEY TEST TUBES. There is enough bullet expansion material in one BULLET TEST TUBE to mold at least one dozen TURKEY TEST TUBES. This means a hunter could purchase one BULLET TEST TUBE, and 12 TURKEY TEST TUBE MOLDS and test one bullet from a 30-30 and 12 shot shell loads multiple times after only melting the material once.
