Prepare to shoot the Tube To obtain the best results with the Bullet Test Tube it should be shot when the material inside the Bullet Test Tube is between 70 and 74 degrees. To make sure that the Bullet Test Tube is at this temperature you can use a candy thermometer and stick it into the Test Tube to a depth of three inches or just let the Bullet Test Tube remain in-doors, at room temperature, for at least 48 hours before shooting. The bullet expansion material is so dense that it can set out on the range for more than an hour and the core temperature will not be affected. The Tube should be positioned downrange on a flat surface at the desired distance (a minimum of 20 yards is suggested for rifle cartridges) so that it is parallel to the path the bullet will follow when it leaves the rifle. The Test Tube must be shot thru its center for it to provide accurate results.Shooting the Tube Before you actually shoot the Tube you may want to fire your rifle into a target positioned beside the Tube to determine your bullet’s point of impact in relation to your point of aim at the range you have decided to shoot the Tube. Most rifles with scopes will impact about 1 to 2 inches below point of aim at 20 yards. Establish a good rest for your rifle and shoot the Tube. |
