HOW TO SELECT THE PROPER BULLET TEST TUBE CONFIGURATION
To discover the type of wound cavity the bullet creates all you will need is the BULLET TEST TUBE which will stop most defensive handgun and varmint bullets. However, if you wish to recover the bullet you will need an XTENDER. The Xtender slips over the end of the BULLET TEST TUBE and will stop bullets from most every common sporting cartridge. If you are testing big bore cartridges of .375 caliber or larger it might be a good idea to use a second XTENDER to insure you have enough bullet expansion material to stop the bullet. This can be done by cutting the metal end from the XTENDER you attach to the BULLET TEST TUBE and placing a second XTENDER behind the first XTENDER.
If you are looking to test the penetration of big bore solids you will most likely need between 48 and 60 inches of bullet expansion material. The BULLET TEST TUBE and XTENDERS each contain about 11 inches of expansion material.
